2. Cruise the Sun Moon Lake

While there are buses available around the Sun Moon Lake, there’s nothing more romantic than to enjoy a leisurely scenic cruise across the lake. With the mountains as its backdrop and clear turquoise waters, it is a cruise not to be missed. 5. Ita Thao Shopping Street

Want to indulge in local food? Ita Thao Shopping Street is the best place to indulge in gastronomic delights. Located within walking distance from Ita Thao Pier, this shopping street has so many local food that you cannot find in other parts of Taiwan. Invest at least an hour or two to do this street some justice.

6. Wenwu Temple (文武庙)

Wenwu Temple is nestled in the middle of the mountains on the north of the Sun Moon Lake. You can see the Wenwu Temple from the lake cruise. The deities worshiped at the Wenwu Temple are mainly Confucius and Guan Gong, the God of War. You can also purchase wind chimes and hang them at the temple to ask for blessings.

Public buses can bring you to the Wenwu Temple. However, the only challenge is locating the correct bus stop.
