This post is a continuation of Part 1 of our review of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Lights, Motors, Action!® Extreme Stunt Show

Felt that we wasted another FastPass on Lights, Motors, Action!® Extreme Stunt Show.

That FastPass only allowed earlier entry into the gallery, but we were late anyway, so we ended up at a not so good seat.

You will love this stunt show if you are a fan of Disney Pixar’s Cars, where Lightning McQueen makes an appearance.

Again, this feels very much like Universal Studio stuff, only that Universal does it better.

The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow

A rather strange way for guests to gain entry to ‘The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow’.  We had to get these coupons for the ‘next show’ and come back to queue up to get in.

At the end of the show, we were still quite puzzled over what this attraction was about, other than the fact that it was dark and there were some quite good projections of Jack Sparrow.

The Great Movie Ride

The Great Movie Ride is one of the few rides available at Hollywood Studios worth going for.

It’s quite a long ride taking more than 20 minutes in a leisurely boat ride through the ages.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.  That’s the kind of ride that brings you to the top of the tower before plunging you down.  Not for my weak heart!

Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast – live on stage.  One thing you should never miss when you are at any of Disney’s parks, be it Magic KingdomEpcotAnimal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios are the live stage shows.

American Idol/h3>

I guess other than going to the real setup, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the only other place that we could watch the American Idol live.   The entire setup was exactly as what we see on TV, we could even vote live.

These contestants were actually park guests who wanted to take part in the auditions.  These auditions take place at several sessions per day, and the winner of each session competes at the final round at the end of the day for a chance to gain entry to the real American Idol competition!

Pixar Place

Doesn’t this Pixar logo look familiar.  There’s this section at Hollywood Studios that was depicted as Pixar Place – for the Pixar-Disney collaborations in movies.

Toy Story Midway Mania

We queued for nearly an hour for Toy Story Midway Mania.  It is a 4-D shooting game that is immensely entertaining.  Regretted using our precious FastPasses on the other attractions and not on this one.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Had to stand in line to wait for our turn for ‘Voyage of the Little Mermaid’. We were lucky to grab the last few seats in the theatre, but those were the worst seats of all and we didn’t enjoy the show very much as a result.

Hollywood Studios is similar in size as Animal Kingdom and can easily be finished in half a day, provided that you use your FastPasses wisely.  We however, wanted to watch the night show Fantasmic. If you are not on FastPass for this one, make sure to go early to get a good seat.

Fantasmic Night Show

Fantasmic! takes you into the colorful imagination of Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Disney classic characters such as Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Aladdin and the Lion King would appear during the show segments.

When the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs gathers Ursula, Cruella de Vil, Scar and a larger-than-life Maleficent to turn Mickey’s dreams into a nightmare, leave it to Mickey and the power of imagination to save the day.

That completes the end of our review of the Hollywood Studios in Orlando Walt Disney World.
