Breakfast at Bhavana Private Villas

If you stay at any decent enough villas in Bali, you will get to enjoy breakfast cooked by the villa staff right at the comfort of your own villa. We only had to pick out our choice of breakfast and the time that we want it to be served the night before.  Choices were quite diverse, ranging from the traditional Indonesian breakfast to Western and continental delights.

Getting ready for breakfast.  Our breakfast was ready within 15 minutes of preparation.

I chose American breakfast while Tommy had Egg Benedict.  It was complimented by fruit juices, fruits, an assortment of breads, coffee and tea – enough food for us to sit down for a long time to enjoy.

The next day, we were served by a different lady.  That’s her with her ingredients carried on a large tray on top of her head. And always with a smile on her face.

I had American breakfast again while Tommy chose Belgian waffles this time.  Both were very good!

In-House Balinese Massage

Most hotels and villas in Bali would offer spa and massage services within their premises.  At Bhavana Private Villas, a 1-hr Balinese massage would cost Rp 175,000, which after taxes and conversion comes up to about SGD 21 per person.   Not too bad a price, compared to what we would have to pay in Singapore.

Service can be improved

While room service and housekeeping were excellent at Bhavana Private Villas, their logistics management continued to be a disappointment.  During our short 2-night stay, there were 2 other incidences where transport was arranged in advance but yet did not materialize.  We have never stayed at other villas so there was no basis for comparison with other standards, but nevertheless we felt that this was hardly acceptable.

The Location

Bhavana Private Villas is actually quite well-located, provided that you know your way around.  The row of restaurants and high-end shopping street is within a 5-minute walking distance from Bhavana Private Villas.  There’s also a convenience store a stone’s throw away for stocking up on daily supplies.  However, we will not recommend walking around at night as you would have to walk into some small alleys to get back.
