We just got to have some Chinese food after an entire week in Darwin. On our last day in Darwin, we found ourselves at Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant – a nice Chinese restaurant that was located at Novotel Darwin Airport, opposite to where we stayed at the Mercure Darwin Airport Resort.
We also took the chance to look at the interior of Novotel Darwin Airport and were quite impressed, although we cannot vouch for the standard and comfort level of their rooms.
Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant was situated on the ground floor of Novotel Darwin Airport, and it was not difficult to locate once you are at the property.
The atmosphere here at the Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant was absolutely lovely. The restaurant consist of a comfortable indoor dining area, and an al-fresco dining area that was just next to the pool.
We chose to sit indoors, which was not as lovely as the outdoor seating, but which provides a nice reprieve from the sweltering heat.
We would go as far to say that the food here was fabulous, but it was at least of an acceptable standard, albeit a little expensive even for a restaurant at a airport hotel.
The complimentary crackers.
Our appetiser of fried wanton (AUD$8.50) – 5 pieces only, and main dish of sweet and sour pork (AUD$26.50). This would normally have cost less than half the price in Singapore.
Deep fried ice-cream (AUD$10.50). The concept of a fried ice-cream may seem like a novelty, but its actually quite common in Singapore.
The Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant also offers a take-away menu and a delivery service, but we would recommend dining at the restaurant itself.
The Loong Foong Seafood Restaurant offers decent Chinese food with a good ambience and service but at a premium price. It makes for a good meal if you are in the vicinity of the airport.
