Going To Bali, Indonesia? In this installment of our Bali Travel Guide Series, we take a stroll around Seminyak Square in Bali for some casual shopping and dining.
Shopping in Bali – Seminyak Square
Seminyak Square is located at the end of the famous Jalan Kayu Aya, where the streets are lined with boutiques and higher end cafes.
Seminyak Square is made up of a two-storey building lined with shops, restaurants and cafes. Although there are various shops here, they cater mostly to the tourists, and things are expensive here. The best store should be the bookshop which sells English books on top of their local books.

Shuttle from Seminyak to Kuta
If you ever get tired of Seminyak Square (which we did within 5 minutes!), there’s a paid shuttle service called Kura-Kura Bus that can bring you to Kuta from Seminyak.
Black Canyon Coffee – Perfect Place for Coffee
There are quite a number of cafes and restaurants lining the ground level of Seminyak Square, but we picked Black Canyon Coffee for lunch since we were not familiar with the rest.
Surprisingly, Black Canyon Coffee had a wide selection of main courses in addition to their beverages. It is also the perfect place to while away time and escape the intense sun at the same time.
Our main course of rice with chicken with cashew nuts.
They claimed that their Tom Yum soup was award-winning, so being a fan of Thai food, I simply must give it a try. It really did taste quite good, but we’ve had better ones. In fact, the one we had at the Blue Mountains in Australia was much more authentic than this.
Seminyak Square will be a good place to find a cafe to rest and relax and hide from the afternoon sun. However, if you are looking for good shopping, this would hardly be the place.
